Kinanis LLC - 3rd Photography Competition 2021 - Results

Kinanis LLC announces that its 3rd Photography Competition 2021 that it has organized, has been finalised. 

29 photographers participated and in total 120 contesting photographs were submitted.

The committee of judges after considering all contesting photographs, taking into account the terms and conditions of the competition, the quality and the consistency of the work presented and the theme of the competition, in a strict confidential approach, selected the winners, the honourable mentions and the shortlisted photographs. The said photographs will be exhibited in accordance with the terms of the competition and will be published on the commemorative catalogue to be printed.

Prizes

The prizes were granted to:

The 1^st prize was granted to Alexis Saveriades of Cyprus for his photograph titled “Sink beneath the surface and you are free”.

The 2^nd prize was granted to Arpan Basu Chowdhury of India for his photograph titled “The Freedom of Self”.

The 3^rd prize was granted to Ramazan Cirakoglu of Turkey for his photograph titled “Red”.

Honourable mentions

The Honourable mentions were awarded to:

Arpan Basu Chowdhury of India for the photograph “The Smile of Wisdom”,

Chrysovalantis Loukaides of Cyprus for the photograph “The road to…”,

Ramazan Cirakoglu of Turkey for the photograph ‘Free run horse’

In addition to the prizes and the honourable mentions the following photographs stood out and were selected for the commemorative book to be published and for the exhibition and relevant auction:

Opening – Award ceremony

The opening and award ceremony will take place on Friday the 26^th of November 2021 at 7:30pm, at AKAMANTIS Business Center, 10 Egypt Street, 1097, Nicosia, Cyprus where the prizes will be awarded, in accordance with the governmental measures for Covid-19 pandemic. The opening of the award ceremony and the photo exhibition will be held by the Honourable Minister of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth of Cyprus, Mr. Prodromos Prodromou.

The following prizes will be awarded:

• 1^st prize €750;
• 2^nd prize €500;
• 3^rd prize €250;
• Honourable Mentions. Relevant certificates will be awarded.

                      
The Philanthropic Character of the Photography Competition

The Competition has also a charitable purpose.

The proceeds from the event, as identified in the terms and conditions of the Competition which are found here, as well as a €500,00 donation by Kinanis Law Firm, will be donated to the non-profitable company, ”Christina A. Apostolou Foundation” https://www.facebook.com/ChrAFoundation/.

A commemorative book will be published containing the winners, the honourable mentions and the shortlisted photographs. The book will be sold at the price of €5 each, and all money collected from the sales will be donated to the non-profitable company charitable institution above indicated.

The aforesaid photographs will be exhibited for auction at Akamantis Business Centre, as from Friday 26/11/2021 to Saturday 11/12/2021 and will be eligible for acquisition by bidding process.

In addition to the exhibition, the photographs will also be available for bidding online at https://www.kinanis.com/Community/3.

The starting bidding price for all photographs exhibited, will be €100 plus VAT.

The highest bidding price of each photograph which will be received by the end of the exhibition on 11/12/2021, will be the winning selling price of that photograph.

The final results of the competition and the amount donated will be audited by external auditors and published after the end of the event at the Kinanis LLC website.

We would like to thank and express our gratitude to the committee of judges, Christalla Kyriacou, BAA, MVA, Freelance Photographer, Lecturer, Giorgos Hadjipieris, Composer, Music Producer, Amateur Photographer and Christos Kinanis, Advocate, Amateur Photographer, who devoted their time, expertise and knowledge for the successful selection of the winning photographs, honourable mentions and shortlisted photographs, after a long and fruitful discussion and consideration.

We would also like to thank Honourable Minister of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth of Cyprus, Mr. Prodromos Prodromou for accepting our invitation to open the award ceremony and the exhibition.
